Trap Sauce Mix A secret michelada recipe finally emerges during the 2020 lockdown.
Local Houstonian Angie Haaksma has had a passion for micheladas and the craft that goes into each mug since 2010.
Houston is very popular for their diversity and the michelada market is climbing. Angie fell in love with the spicy citrus combination to turn your average beer into a fun spicy drink.
She spent her 20s trying different micheladas all over the city and country. As her passion grew, so did her recipes. Each michelada she tried she would recreate a better version and share with friends and family at her house in which they called “The Trap”.
Angie managed a small family entertainment business for over 7 years but was cut abruptly due to the covid 19 lockdown. The lockdown forced her to find ways to provide for her family financially. Having all of these recipes she decided to perfect her craft and after 3 months she launched a michelada mix in a very saturated market.
To stand out and adapt to the “new normal” she provided a delivery service in Houston and surrounding areas.
Trap Sauce has a variety of different flavors to provide options for those who were “Trapped” at home and couldn’t go out. As the pandemic progressed there were ingredient and supply shortages, having to pivot from name brand ingredients to fresh ingredients from vendors who were able to bring in specialty ingredients from Mexican farms. Finally in 2021 the world started opening back up slowly and Trap Sauce finally made it to the streets as a street vendor serving at local bars, pop up markets, concerts, and so much more. Trap Sauce Mix provides fresh quality ingredients both locally and from the motherland. As the years went on so did the success and exposure thanks to social media and word of mouth. Trap Sauce now has many vendors across Texas that carry the product and now distributes nationwide. As risky as it was to start a business during a historic pandemic we strive to alway TRAP Take Risk And Prosper.
